A savings game with friends
Turn your money into momentum.
The most fun way to turn saving into a game with friends.

StackUpp is the most fun and engaging way to turn saving and financial health into a competition with friends. Not another bland finance app that blends in on your phone. It's your financial notebook in your pocket, turned into a climb toward your summit: everyone is ranked by Stack Rate (the share of your take-home pay you saved), and you choose what you share.
- Compete with friends
- You decide what they see
- No bank logins, ever
What makes it different
Not another finance app. A game you play with friends.
It's actually fun
Friends, family, coworkers, or a teenager with a first summer job. A Challenge has a start, an end, a leaderboard and a podium, and your whole group is working toward the same goal. You're not tracking money alone in a spreadsheet; you're playing a season with people you know.
You choose what you share
Everyone competes on Stack Rate, a percentage. Your dollar amounts, expenses and income are private by default. Share more with one Challenge and nothing with another. It's always your call.
It makes you do the work
No bank sync, no autopilot. You enter your own paychecks, expenses and payments, and that's the point: by the end of your first Challenge you actually understand your financial situation, not just a number an app guessed for you.

"If you have enough time to set your fantasy lineup each week, you have enough time to take control of your money."
The first thing the app says to you.
What it is
A competition where the percentage counts, not the paycheck.
You join a Challenge: a group of friends with a start and an end date. Every dollar you log toward a hole, a stack, your vault or a sack earns points. Your Stack Rate is those points divided by your take-home pool, so the leaderboard rewards effort, not income. Ryan and Joey can compete fairly, whatever they earn.

Why StackUpp exists
Your financial notebook, in your pocket.
Once upon a time people tracked their money with pen and paper. Then a spreadsheet. Then a parade of budgeting apps that wanted your bank login, automated everything, and quietly stopped being opened. StackUpp gets back to basics in a way that's actually fun: you write your numbers down, you see where you stand, and your friends are on the trail with you.
1
Pen and paper
You knew every dollar because you wrote every dollar. It worked. It was lonely.
2
The spreadsheet
Rows, formulas, a tab per month. Powerful, and abandoned by February.
3
The budgeting apps
Bank logins, auto-categorising, dashboards nobody reads. Cumbersome, and they blend in with every other finance app on your phone.
4
StackUpp
Back to basics. A notebook you'll actually keep, because it's a game with friends, and every entry is a step up the trail toward your summit.
Friends make it stick
Accountability from people you know is what changes behavior. It works in fitness. It works here.
Hands-on by design
From the app: "We don't make it easy to enter transactions and expenses, and that's intentional." Doing the work is what builds the awareness and the habit.
One mountain, one trail
Fill your holes first. Then stack, protect retirement, and save for goals. Everyone's climbing the same summit, and the app shows you the next step.
The four pots
In the order you climb.
Every dollar you log earns points. Holes and Vault earn the most, because they're the hardest to keep up with.
Step 1
Holes
Debt: credit cards, car loans, student loans. Log the extra payments you make with your lender and watch the hole fill in.
1.5 points per dollar

Step 2
Stacks
Savings: savings accounts, high-yield savings, brokerage. Your liquid money for opportunities and big purchases.
1.25 points per dollar

Step 3
Vault
Retirement savings: 401(k), Roth and Traditional IRA. Long-term wealth, including paycheck contributions and employer match.
1.5 points per dollar

Step 4
Sacks
Short-term savings for a specific thing: a trip, a new car, a down payment. Also kids' 529s and savings.
1 points per dollar

Coins, bars and nuggets are visuals only. Just for fun: awards have no cash value.
